Budapest Hungary

I had my misgivings as I pulled into the inner city, gated “campsite.” It had electricity and it was on the street next to transportation that would get us to downtown Budapest in a flash.

Outside my window the next morning.

This hot air balloon lifting people above the park. There was a tether that brought it back down and the weather was cool, dry and sunny.

We headed downtown early before our tour of Budapest from a boat on the Danube river

Buda castle and Mathias church

The buildings along the waterfront are majestic pieces of architecture.

St Stephen’s basilica

Gorgeous spires soaring above the river below

4 bridges span the Danube

This was the oldest of the bridges and stood out as a landmark in its own right.

Crowded tourist areas

Even on a holiday in the off season this city is filled with tourists.

Lunch in a restaurant that was once a museum.

All bench areas for dining were

Marked by an apostle‘s name

st Paulus

Lunch was traditional Hungarian fare seasoned with an abundance of paprika along side a dry white Hungarian wine.

If you ever get to don’t miss the chance to visit this beautiful city.

Happy Easter
