Broads Abroad

We found a quiet campground that is seemingly inhabited by hundreds of people who work at all of the fancy resorts in this tourist Mecca.

I have realized quite quickly how insulated from other cultures living in Florida and Maine. Maybe this is why we are so prejudiced and intolerant as a country?

Our waiter Joe was born in Portugal and spent most of his adult life in Germany. He was a driver in the military and had special security clearance. He told us stories about driving John Kerry around when he was Secretary of State during the Obama administration. He was a lovely young man and wishes us Americans well during this difficult time in our history.

Our other friend was this German gentlemen whose name I have forgotten due to wine intake. Since retiring he has been traveling around the world. Currently living in Portugal and working in a local restaurant. There was a language barrier but he definitely knew Trump and Musk’s names and also wished us well.

We are off to a boat tour of the waterfront.
